Most of us got used to all the technological changes. They came one at a time, and were usually standalone entities. There was the cell phone, the webcam, tv, radio, and many others. Now with the popularity of VOIP or internet phones, most of of these technologies are merging together.

Think of it. Your cell phone is also a camera, a computer, a video cam, and all sorts of other things so it is one merger thats already been made in your communications life.
Your computer allows you to watch tv shows, movies, game and make phone calls. See where this is going. The internet phone is creating an underlying structure that is creating a convergence of services. Already, our broadband, HD TV and phone service is combined and those types of bundlings will continue. Now that the mechanism are getting firmly into place, you can expect more and more mergers of things like internet access, video and data communication, voice, and they will all be combined into the same network.
